Okay, I saw this on Monica's blog, and thought it looked fun, so here goes - my life in a nutshell.
20 Years Ago:
I was a happy six year old, livin' it up in Newton, Utah. We lived in a little peach house with the biggest yard and garden you have ever seen. Oh, and our neighbors? Cows, on every side. But as a child, it was all I could ever want.
10 Years Ago:
I was a reckless, and slightly rebelious sixteen year old. I had passed my driver's licensing exam after just three attempts, and then I was on the road. And I'm not sure who's idea it was to let me drive, but lets just say that I'm probably lucky to be alive.
5 Years Ago:
Dan and I had been married for just about a year. We had a nice house, complete with a big screen TV, a hot tub and a huge kitchen. Unfortunately, we had to move to a two-room cinderblock appartment when Grandma and Grandpa came home from their mission in Nauvoo. But we were happier than happy attending Utah State University and living the life of poor college students.
3 Years Ago:
I was 5 months pregnant with Emma and working full time at the Book Table. Customers would come in on a daily basis, and after being surprized that I was still there because I was so huge, they would ask if I was having twins. Yes people, I had this question posed to me on a regular basis. Incedentally, three months later, when Emma was born, she came out, and the doctor told me she was five pounds fifteen ounces, and I litterally wanted to shou "where in the world is the other one?"
1 Year Ago:
I was happily teaching singing time in primary one sunday, and the bishop slipped in to watch. As I stood there singing to the kids (lets face it, that's pretty much what happens when you're the singing teacher in primary), and had a flutter in my tummy, because I knew the bishop was getting ready to call me to be the Relief Society President. Sure enough, the next week, he called Dan into his office, and asked Dan if he would support me in the calling, and then called me in and extended the call. I recieved my roll that day - it had over 130 sisters on it, and only about 25 of them were active. I did two welfare visits that week. I just about had a nervous breakdown the next. But it has been very fullfilling to see the Lord's work change people's lives in such a crime-ridden, drug infested area. It would be an understatement to say that I have learned a lot.
1 Day Ago:
Was Sunday, which means I go to a meeting at ten, eleven and twelve. The phone rings off the hook all day long. Sunday is Emma's favorite day of the week, because she gets to "sing songs" and she gets to wear a "pitty dess". Because I am at PEC, Dan gets Emma ready and picks up investigators for church by himself. We are in church from one to three, we drive people home, we get home and eat our crock-pot dinner, and then we pass out.
Today:
Was Monday. A rainy Monday at that. Emma woke up early, and after trying to convince her to get into bed with me (no go), she finaly talked me into eating "betfust". We hung out all morning, which includes singing, dancing, reading, and playing with "pintences", then we did a couple of visits in the afternoon, and then she actually took a nap (hooray) so I got to do some chores without my shadow "helping". After dinner we had "fanee night" with our usual singing songs and "rosies", and then she hopped in bed. And here I sit, blogging my heart out while my dear, hardworking husband studies for a test.

Love it! It's fun to see how life changes. I love the story about you wondering where the other baby was, cute LITTLE Emma. Especially next to Bethany's Evan! And now your Sundays seem even more busy than ours! Cute!!
That was so fun to read all of that! So, RS president huh...I bet you are great at that. I was Enrichment counselor and that was plenty for me! It's so fun to read your blog and Emma is just so cute!
Very fun to read especially for your mom! Life's good...Love every minute of it.
Marianne, your Sunday and Monday cracks me up! Josh was actually home yesterday to help Shelby get ready for church, and he has a new perspective on what Sunday is really like at our house....
I'd be glad to have Josh (or Dan) get Shelby ready for church!
