We spent last Wednesday thru Saturday in Nauvoo on a little family getaway.

The temple, of course, is the highlight of the trip. We went with some friends, and so were able to trade and go to a session. It was just wonderful.

Emma was scared of the oxen. . .

And the horses.

These little wooden sheep were just right for her.

We also visited Carthage.

We camped the first night. Then the weather got really bad, so we found these little cabins for the other two nights. Actually, they were not really cabins, more just a cement floor with pliewod walls and roof, but it kept us out of the rain.

The temple again. Emma loved being at the temple. When it was time to leave, we told her to tell the temple bye-bye, and she said "no, Emma see the temple."

When we first got there, we walked around the temple grounds, and Emma went up these steps and sat there and started singing the Temple Song. She was so happy.

She loved the sunshines on the temple. We bought her a little necklace with the sunstone on it to wear to church, and she showed everybody she could.

Beautiful.
So fun!! I am jealous. Nauvoo is gorgeous! What a fun little trip. And I love that Emma started singing the Temple Song. She is such a doll!!
Hi Marianne! Loved seeing the pictures of your trip -- what fun memories you'll have. I'd love to take the kids to Nauvoo sometime. Emma is a cute, cute girl!
I never knew you were such a faithful blogger! I found it through Spendlove's. It looks like you guys had a good time in Nauvoo. The picture of Emma on the stairs of the temple is one that I am sure she will treasure later in life! Anyway, glad I found your blog, I will check in every now and then if you don't mind.

That looks like so much fun. I'm glad you did this before you leave SOON!!! I can just hear Emma singing the temple song--how adorable. Daniel, you're looking a bit hairier(facial that is, not top of head) than I remember seeing you last.
