Fourth of July and Birthday Fun

Emma's birthday will be while we are in Utah, so we had a little party for her before we left. She got to invite a few friends over, and we had an "under the sea" party (which was pretty much an Ariel party, but modified for the boys).

We threw water balloons.

We also did some yard fishing.

Stylin', huh? She got these glasses from one of her friends and wore them all day.

Of course, the grand finale, Emma got a bike! She was so excited. For weeks now she's been asking for a "bid bite" or big bike in translation. We hid it at the neighbors house, and Tyson was so excited to help bring it out to her.

She did really well riding it.The swimsuit really adds, doesn't it? Actually, what she really needs is a helmet and maybe some knee pads.
All the kids ran down the street with her as she rode it for the first time.

Here is Emma at the fireworks - scared out of her mind. The fourth of July in Nebraska is crazy! While we sat and waited for the fireworks at the stadium, there was amazing fireworks going off all around us. Huge ones, like you would never see in Utah. It is so thrilling.
Daddy and Emma at the fireworks. This is a very forced smile, but at least she started enjoying it.
Emma got to stay up quite late to see the fireworks. She got very tired. And in the end, she really liked the big fireworks - it was the small ones that people set off near us that really scared her.
