Mary Mary Quite Contrary

Those of you who know me from Omaha, know that I spent a considerable amount of time on a garden both summers, only to be met with disaster.

Summer #1: I don't manure my garden, so the plants never do very well. Then, a worm infestation kills all of my plants. Total yield: two handfulls of beans.
Summer #2: I manure and fertilize, and my plants look great, until the storm of 07, which wipes out every one of my poor plants. Total yield: a few cherry tomatoes and one zuchini.
Summer #3 (current): My garden consists of three potted plants, and cucumber, and zuchini and a tomatoe. I didn't fertilize them, and just about killed them a few weeks ago, but they're coming back now that I broke out the plant food. Now the plants are healthy, but the lack of bees in our yard is a problem - none of the flowers are getting fertilized. Total yield to date: two cucumbers, one zuchini and five tomatoes. Oh, I do have a pot of basil that has worked out great.
So, the question: IS IT WORTH IT? As of yet, I'm not sure. When I go to my dad's amazing garden and eat all the fresh produce, I say yes. But I'm not sure I'll ever be able to get to that point.

And please, don't call me Mary.
