We're finally back! Our visit to Blanding was a lot of fun. We had lots of places to visit, Dan had a good experience on the reservation and our kids thought it was a great adventure. That said, we are so glad to be home. We missed our beds, our toys, our computer, and having more stores around than just a tiny little grocery store. Our fun weekends are after this entry, but here are a few highlights of January.
Getting ready to go to Blanding. Emma was ready long before we were.

Seth started discovering the joy of food. I let him snitch an Oreo and he thought that was great. However, he's still really weary of anything I try to feed him. It's like he just thinks I'm going to stick something really aweful into that little mug. Which is totaly opposite of Emma - she wanted to eat anything I gave her. Too bad that hasn't lasted, she's now quite a picky eat. So maybe Seth will be the oppisite when he gets older too.

We did lots of hiking, and here are my boys. Seth was a little monkey. Dan said he would just kick and move his legs like he was runnin along with him. He was always exhuasted after a hike.

We played in the snow a lot. They already had quite a bit when we first got down there, not to mention the huge storm we got at the end of the month. Emma wanted to go out most every day.

My little snow angels.

We discovered the Junior Ranger program. At all the national parks, you can ask for a Junior Ranger booklet. It's just a little activity book with word finds, dot to dots and little activities for kids to do while they explore the park. We had tons of fun doing them, and then Emma got a little badge for each one we finished. She was thrilled!

Emma practiced back bends and cartwheels. I think I'd better get her in a tumbling class.

And Seth was a happy little guy. He got two teeth and one horrible cold, yet he was still the sweetest little mini munchkin ever!

I'm not sure about living out in the middle of no where for a month...but all of your weekend trips look so fun!! I am impressed with all your winter hiking. The only time we have done any of that in the winter is pre-kids. Which is also the only time we have hiked all the way to delicate arch. I still now will sometimes wake up in a panic because of a dream of hiking delicate arch with the kids...lots of scary cliffs!! I'm glad you guys got some awesome memories of Blanding!!
