STAR of the week

We have a super-star at our house this week. It is Emma's turn to be the star of the week in her classroom. She got to bring a poster to school and tell the kids about herself. How fun for her to be able to do this!

We put this poster together. I tried to help as little as possible (which is always easier said than done). She chose all the pictures, helped glue them on, and then added the stickers as finishing touches.
Her favorite part? "Being like a real teacher. I got to stand up while all the kids were sitting at the rug. Then I got to call on them if they had a question." I can only imagine she was living it up!

And here is a summary of our little angel at this point of her life:
My favorite food: fish and cake (but let's be honest, she'll eat anything sweet, cake just happened to be what she was thinking about at the time).
What I like to do: play barbies, and dolls, and dance, and ride bikes, and hike and camp, and play dress-up. And play. And play and play.
My favorite book(s): Bernstein Bears, Pinkalicious, Narnia, Magic Schoolbus
My favorite color: Yellow (I really do not know where this came from. Her whole life, I thought she must love pink and purple, because that's all she wears and has in her bedroom. But, those things are all things I do for her. When we first asked her, she wanted to put a rainbow, because she loves all the colors (typical Emma, right?), but finally decided on yellow. I guess you learn something new everyday.)

Emma is the sweetest, most fun-loving girl in the world. She has many talents, but the most prominent one is her way with people. Her positive attitude helps her to make friends with anyone, any time. And she's very intuitive about what someone needs and what she should say or do. Emma does not pick favorites, but simply loves everything and everyone that comes along. Except dogs. She doesn't like dogs. Or most of the things I fix for dinner. She loves to read, does great with her numbers, and has done excellent in school this year. She's a pro at asking questions (why? why? why?), and she could play for hours on end. We are lucky to have such a bright, shining star in our family!

I am always so sad to see Scarlett grow up, but this post made me think that the future will be great! I can't believe Emma is so big. They just grow way to fast! She seems like a super fun-loving girl--you're so lucky!

We miss Emma...you too of course. Jackson got to do the same thing at his school and he too felt like a celebrity.
