Happy Halloweeners!!!

Hopefully everyone had a great Halloween. We sure did! Though it was quite different than the week-long festival we got used to in Omaha, we still had lots of fun.
Dan had been on his "crazy" hiking trip until Saturday morning. I threatened him that if he missed carving pumpkins and Halloween he would be in the dog house. He was home in time, but could hardly walk. I still made him take the kids trick-or-treating (evil laugh inserted here).

Here is the perfectionist at work. I finished my pumpkin way before him. Guess who's turned out better? Dan's always does.
Emma poked holes in the back of all the pumpkins.

Here is our lovely dinner in a pumpkin, a little tradition we picked up from the most "boring" people we know (another evil laugh).

And so the dressing up begins. Emma decided she needed to do Seth's hair. He loves to have his hair played with!

Can you even believe how cute?!!!!

By the way, he's not a jailbird. That is just one of his regular outfits, though I'm starting to question it because of how many comments I got on Halloween.

Sweetest.

Here they are! The "wicked witch of the west" and the little monkey.

Emma was so excited to have her face painted green. I didn't do a very good job on it, but she was so thrilled! Dan said that each door she went to she excitedly told people "my face is green" before she even said trick or treat.

And here's the little monkey. He's been squealing a ton, and he sounded just like a wild animal!

Ee-ee, oo-oo.

We let Emma watch The Wizard of Oz because she wanted to be the wicked witch for Halloween. Not smart, mom and dad - it scared the living daylights out of her. But, she still wanted to be the wicked witch. I didn't have the heart to tell her that she's much too cute, and much too purple to be the wicked witch. By the way, I made that awesome trick or treating bag.

And ahh, the spoils of Halloween. She came right in the door and dumped it all over. We had about this much candy again left over from our bucket. The biggest dissapointment was that we didn't have very many trick-or-treaters come to our house. In fact, Emma only got the answer the door for one, and that is part of the joy of Halloween for her. I guess there are fewer kids around here than we thought. But, all in all, in was a wonderful night!
