The Hike - I'm Married to a Crazy Person

Dan loves to hike! I sort of like to hike. Luckily, my dad loves to hike, so he and Dan get to escape every once in a while and enjoy the great outdoors.
For several months, they have been excited about a trip down south to climb through the longest slot canyon (in the US/world?). As the summer ended and fall came upon us, it because clear that they were going to freeze. Did they change their minds? Not a chance. So, in the cold fall weather, they set off for their hike. Driving through a blizzard, they made it to the canyon, which is near Kanab.

Besides being cold, it was very muddy. They had to slosh through miles of slippery, cold mud.
It did look pretty, though.
My dad wondered if he could skim the top of the mud if he ran fast enough. Nope! He just ended up getting even muddier.
Here are Dan's feet at the end of the hike. Gross!!!
This is Dan at the beginning of the canyon. Will he be smiling like this once he's out? Sure enough, through the mud, chest-high freezing water, two lost hikers and very sore muscles, he was very happy when he got home.
They also went and saw a land formation called "the wave."

Happy hikers!
