We are so excited!
We bought a house. After many, many years, we are finally out of rentals and into our own home. It's a weird feeling, I know that really all we own is a mortgage, but it is still ours to modify and change and do what we want. And I do have lots of things planned for it. The carpets are light gray, and the walls and trim are all white. I can't wait to put some color on the walls. Haven't had time yet. We've had other projects going.
This is it. Our home sweet home. We have a blue door! It's so fun.
So, the tour. Starting in Emma's room. Not much has changed. I am going to paint the walls green or light blue.
This is our bedroom. The bed set is new. I am going to paint the walls gray. Hopefully some day I can get a cool furniture set. Do you love my little model? He'll make several appearances here.
Seth's room. This is the only decorated room in the house, because I'm going to wait to paint until he moves out of his crib and into a big bed (still quite a while off). For now, his nursery decor is very bright and fun.
We love our back yard! It's all fenced in, and so big. We spent the first few weeks after we moved in refinishing the deck. It looks great. And then, I (I mean, Dan and my dad) put in three garden boxes in the corner shown here. I've got some raspberries and strawberries in.
This is the view from the front door. We just bought these couches. This is the room that needs color the most. I'm leaning toward a warm gray-ish color. Then, I get to shop for some cool things to put on the wall. (Cute little helper, right?)
Looking back to the main room. It's sooooo white!!! You can see the stairs to the left.
Here's our kitchen. It's got stainless steel appliances and a nice laminate floor. This is the first room I unpacked, and I'll be honest, it was a little frustrating to try to squeeze all our stuff in here after the big kitchen we had in the last place. I was starting to wonder if we made a mistake, until we unpacked the rest of the house. The kitchen is still tight when we have company, but it's been great for me because it's so much more manageable to keep clean.
And now, the basement! We love having a basement, and all the extra room. It is shaped like an "L". The bottom of the L is the "entertainment" section. It's in it's own little nook, but still open to the rest of the basement. Loving it!
Under the stairs we've got a little playhouse set up.
Here is the top part of the "L". Look at all the room to play!
The basement has a bathroom. I'm going to try to put red and turquise together. This bathroom is the first experiment.
This is the spare bedroom in the basement. It's MY space. I put all my project stuff down here, and I'm going to get a desk for my sewing machine so that I never have to put it away. Yay. This room will be my red and turquise.
This room is also YOUR room. When you come up to see us. You know you want to!
