The Teen is Home!!!

My baby brother came home from his mission this past thursday. We got to go pick him up from the airport, and we all wondered how much he would have changed. Well, he's more grown up, and more spiritual, but still the fun-lovin' kid we all know and love! We spent this past weekend partying and catching up at mom and dad's house. Teen got to meet his new nephew, Seth, and Seth warmed right up to him (he's pretty stranger shy right now). And little Emma was so worried about seeing Kellen for the first time because she thought he was going to be a big scary giant. But, she ended up being the first to run to him and give him a big hug.

Kell served in Argentina, and my parents took the chance to go down and pick him up. None of us realized what a poor, third-world area he was in until mom and dad witnessed it and describe it themselves (Kellen's e-mails were always happy and positive - he never mentioned what living conditions were like). But, apparently, the people there are incredible humble and poor. He served in the thick of the jungle, and loved it. When he gave his homecoming report, he stood up and mentioned how overwhelming it was to see so many people in church - he was used to just a handful (if that) each week. How lucky we are to have the church and a legacy of faith in our family.
Unfortunately, I did not pull out my camera much this weekend. There were so many moments I wish I had captured and didn't, like the first time we saw him. And many moments that worked for video but not still camera, like Seth and Emma enjoying his guitar and piano after two long years with out. However, the above two pictures are, sadly, the only Teen pics I got. And the next few are the extent of the whole break.

Going to grandma and grandpa's house always means a visit with the pugs. And who knew that Seth would love them so much? Well, he sure did!

Petting them.
Getting kisses.
Giving kisses (great).
And one last random shot of some tubbers with their hoodie towel on. Emma always makes sure that they match with their towels, although hers is barely big enough to cover her up anymore.

Such cute pictures! I bet it was so fun for all the kids to get reacquainted with Kellen -- we wish we could have been there to help welcome him home!
