Lagoon Day

We went to Lagoon last Monday. My mom, brother and sister came with us. We had tons of fun! Emma loved her first visit to an amusement park, and Seth did awesome with little sleep and lots of action.
The little guy didn't get to ride any rides, but did that bug him? Not one bit! He loved pulling himself up against the fences and cruising to his heart's delight.

Looks like a little jailbird, huh? Nope, just enjoying a good hand-hold for some practice walking. He's getting so close to walking. Any day now, he'll be running around like a crazy man.
Lagoon now has a kiddie area (which is new since I've been there last), but here are the classic mini bumper cars that I remember from my childhood. Emma went on this one three times in a row.

The jumping water fountains were Seth's favorite part. Everytime we were near them, he craned his neck and fussed until he got to go check them out and try to touch.

Emma enjoyed them, too. But, mommy wouldn't let her get very wet.

I think she was glad that she didn't get wet, because it was a little cold after that. Here they are trying to warm up against the warm cement in the sunshine.

Crazy wet kids trying to dry off. Mitch got soaked. Brrr!

Dan and I decided to try out the catapult. It launches you, sling-shot style way way up in the air. And it was amazing!

Getting geared up for the launch.

And the favorite ride of them all? Daddy's shoulders!

Emma was big enough to go on one of the big roller coasters. I was sure she would chicken out before we got to the front, but she didn't. She sat down, let daddy strap her in, and went for it. After it was over, she said "that was scary. . .but fun!" I did notice she had slightly wobbly legs, but she went on tons more rides after. This is Emma and Dan waiting in line for the "big" roller coaster.

And the funnest, for kids and for mommy (because I loved watching her) was kiddie land.

Classic boats, where Emma made a friend.

And the good old carasel. She went on this one several times too, yelling "wee wee wee" continuously.

Lagoon was a success. I had always believed that Emma would be too scared to go on any rides, but I now feel that we could possibly take Emma to Disneyland and not have it be a waste. She's already asking when we get to go back.
