Glacier

We took a family vacation to Glacier last weekend. We didn't make it up there last year, but definitely wanted to this year. I'm so glad we did. It was amazing!

We stayed in a hotel on the East side of Glacier the first night. Our hotel overlooked a little river that kept the kids busy all night.
This was a dream vacation for Seth. He loves throwing rocks in water - and he got to do it almost the entire time. Wouldn't even stop for a picture.
Emma found lots of pretty rocks that she wanted to bring home. We decided to just take pictures of them. I decided to spare you most of them, but here is a favorite.
Yes, those are rocks, bud, and so dang cool!
Saturday morning, we drove into the park. It was just gorgeous. I just can't describe how pretty it was. Unfortunately, I'm not a good enough photographer to capture it that way, either.
My super kids.
Again, beyond words to describe. Guess you'll have to come up and see it!!

We went on a little hike and a couple of short walks. This waterfall was at the end of our hike.

There was wood bridge, but this is how Emma preferred to cross the river. My heart was leaping the whole time! But she could have twirled over it and been fine.
A mile and a half is kind of a long way for little munchkins. By the end, they had just about had it. This is how we finished our hike. Notice Seth - he will not give up playing with his car for anything!
Oh, so this is how we hike?

Hiking? No way! We had to stop at every slanted rock (many times not even at a rock) so that Seth could drive around his car.
We spent Saturday night in a town called White Fish, and it was every bit as gorgeous as Glacier. We spent some time at the lake there. The water was perfectly clear and a beautiful color of blue. Was it cold? Yes! But no colder than Bear Lake or Hyrum Dam (I even got in for a while).
The hotel we found was a lodge at a ski resort. There was an alpine slide that we couldn't resist. The kids loved it!
The lift on the way up was fun, though my heart was leaping out of my chest again! Having kids changes so much - what would have normally been thrilling and fun turns into a near-death experience! But still tons of fun.
I liked our Montana home before we went on this vacation, but now that I've seen that part of the state, I can say that I honestly am in love. What a beautiful world we live in!!!
